Frequently Asked
Questions
Do we take insurance?
Currently, we are credentialed with Medicaid and Medicare. However, many Medicare plans do not cover hearing aids or diagnostic testing for purposes of hearing aid evaluations. Abram Audiology services and hearing devices are primarily private pay. We can provided detailed invoices should you like to file a claim with your benefits. We also have an option through CareCredit, which is a monthly pay-as-you-go service that allows for financial flexibility.

How much do hearing aids cost?
Hearing aids vary in cost because there are many variables such as strength, battery life, and overall patient needs. A comprehensive hearing evaluation would help decide what that number would be based on need.

All hearing aids bought through Abram Audiology come with a standard 3-year manufacturer warranty, including loss/damage coverage (deductible may apply).
What is the difference between over-the-counter hearing aids and prescription hearing aids?
Prescription hearing aids are designed to accommodate all levels of hearing loss, providing a tailored solution for each individual. In contrast, over-the-counter hearing aids are typically suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss and are often not able to meet specific and individual needs. Working with an audiologist ensures that prescription hearing aids are programmed and fine-tuned to meet your specific hearing needs, enhancing your overall listening experience.
Does a purchase of hearing aids come with follow up appointment(s)?
The short answer, yes. Dr. Abram provides hearing aid ordering/programming/fitting/follow-ups including real ear measures with live speech mapping with every patient. This is utilized for best practice and increases patient outcomes/satisfaction. We call this a "bundled" price, meaning that all these services are included with the price of the hearing aid(s).
